The Oliver planer was moved successfully this past weekend. Here it is, hanging under the gantry just before I backed the pickup underneath. The gantry performed like a champ, I think the design was appropriate - the proper mix of strength, rigidity and portability. Many thanks to Buzz H for his assistance in moving this beast.

I'm going to look at an Oliver 399 (18" planer) this weekend. Perhaps the 166 will have a big sister.

My fully restored Oliver 166 jointer. It was originally made by Oliver Machinery Company in Grand Rapids, MI in 1943. Ready for another lifetime of use.
