The lumber racks are done and holding weight. There's an identical rack on the back side of the block wall, so the load on the wall is fairly close to balanced. The 2x verticals are fastened to the wall with 1/2" threaded rod that passes thru the block wall.
Lumber Storage
My lumber storage "system" has been sorely neglected so I'm working on an upgrade. Here are 40 shelf standards, plus another 10 already installed.
Keeping It Straight
I like to use straightedges when working veneer, to keep different parts in alignment during assembly. They are especially helpful if multiple pieces meet at apoint, like sunburst patterns or this reverse diamond pattern.
A Pattern of Veneer
Today I'm working on the veneer layout for a small table top. I really enjoy this process of cutting and fitting veneers - using a block plane to work very precisely. Definitely a blue tape day.
Casting Coat Hooks
Something a little different today: coat hooks. These are wood prototypes of coat hooks that I'm hoping to have cast in bronze. Headed to the foundry after lunch today
