I'm working on dovetails for a top secret project. It's a case piece, that's all I can say. This time it's tails first, which feels wrong for a pins-first kind of person.
Teaser
My first article as a contributing editor for Fine Woodworking magazine is making its way to mailboxes, newsstands, bookstores, etc. Issue 262 - be sure to buy copies for your neighbors.
A Bit of Clamping
And here are the runners from yesterday, glued/clamped to the front leg/apron assembly.
Teeny, Tiny Tenons
These are drawer runners. The tenons are actually slip tenons, preglued into the runners.
Positively Polyurethane
I'm gluing up the first leg to apron connection, and all looks good. You can see the small amount of cleanup I'll have to do at the leg to apron transition - just a little bit of pencil line to remove - after the glue cures. I'm using primarily polyurethane glue on this piece (inspired by the article by Craig Thibodeau in Fine Woodworking magazine). Positive experiences thus far.
