Shaping The Aprons

After tracing the leg profiles onto the ends of the aprons, I wasted away the bulk of the waste on the table saw. After this, it's all hand tools. I'll take it down close to the line and fair the profile to final shape after assembly.

Fitting the Base Joinery

With the slip tenons in place (but no glue), I'm checking the fit of each apron-to-leg joint. I'll also trace the profile of the legs onto the end grain of the aprons so they can be shaped to match the legs.

Slip Tenons

A mess of tenons or slip tenons, splines, free tenons, floating tenons or whatever floats your boat.

More Old Iron

I can't seem to get enough of this old iron. This is the very old F.E. Myers & Bro. pump I use to pull water from our cistern to water the gardens. It started leaking oil last summer so I stopped using it with the intention of working on it over the winter... Well, July seemed like a good time to overhaul it.
