En Pointe

Reminiscent of a ballerina en pointe, this sideboard is an elegant and playful study in contrasts.  Contrast exists not only in the different materials used, but also in the rectilinear case with drawers sitting atop the curvaceous base.

The case and drawer fronts are made of quartersawn curly maple, with rosewood edging. Interior drawer parts utilize quartersawn cherry and western red cedar. The base is made of ebonized black walnut.

The hand-shaped drawer pulls, inspired by gemstones, adorn the piece like fine jewelry.
